Where nature meets nurture

Chemicals rule the modern world. As best as we try to avoid eating them, our skin, like a sponge, absorbs a vast majority of what we put on it, potentially creating havoc with our health. 

It's about time we treat our skin like our stomach. If you can't eat it, why put it on your face? 

We're an outdoorsy family and the Australian climate, bugs and creepy crawlies aren't kind to our skin, so we admit to having slathered ourselves and our kids in everything from toxic insect repellents to toxic sunscreens, goodness-knows-whats-in-it creams, lotions and potions. Not to mention our moisturisers, toners, spot creams and more!

Problem is, we found out the hard way that skin can only handle that level of toxic shock for so long before it starts to break out, resist healing and cause reactions.

On investigating our random rashes and breakouts we found that artificial fragrances, colours, preservatives, parabens, and seed oils plus SLS (Sodium Laurel Sulphate) - all common inclusions in skincare and haircare - were causing us issues, irritating our scalps, faces and body and potentially absorbing into our bloodstream to cause even more long term issues. 

So, as the world becomes more toxic and chemical reliant, we went the other way, eliminating all the chemical substances that many brands use and going back into the history books to find a handful of natural, powerful ingredients from days of old. 

We often think about how our grandparents would react to our modern choices... probably with horror! So our family saying is, "if Nanna recognised it as food / a remedy, we're on the right track!"

So, we grew the ingredients for the ancestral  remedies we found, or sourced them locally so we knew what we were using was spray-free, chemical-free and family farm grown. 

And our product range was born!
